milla de oro - puente romano

The Golden Mile or La Milla de Oro of Marbella. Everything you need to know.

We call the golden mile to the entire strip that runs from the west of Marbella-center to Puerto Banús.

Although it is only 5Km of strip, this area is one of the most exclusive and requested in terms of properties in Europe.

In fact, La Milla de Oro was the site chosen by Prince Alfonso de Hohenlohe to build the luxurious and well-known Marbella Club hotel.
Since the hotel opened its doors in the mid 1950’s, it began to attract European aristocrats, international businessmen, famous actors … what transformed the old fishing village, into one of the most sought-after destinations in the world, a condition that has been maintained ever since. .

Therefore, knowing all the history behind the Golden Mile, it is not surprising that it is currently home to the best villas, apartments and penthouses you can find in southern Spain.

This area is divided into two areas: from the coastal road N-340 towards the beach, and from the N-340 towards the mountains.

The beachside of the motorway is fully developed, while on the mountain side there are some areas that are still undergoing development or that offer brand new complexes with properties yet to be occupied. Investment opportunities in this area include luxury villas, apartments and penthouses with spectacular views of mountain and sea.

On the beach side, you will find wonderful private villas and luxurious apartments and penthouses in exclusive residential complexes such as Las Cañas and Playa Esmeralda, as well as the hotels named Marbella Club and Puente Romano. You can also enjoy a fabulous promenade, recognized as one of the longest and most beautiful in Europe, which has the best beach clubs and restaurants in Marbella.

Regarding the northern area of the golden mile, it represents a long avenue parallel to the sea with numerous shopping centers and some of the best restaurants in Marbella, including Nobu, El Portalon, Villa Tiberia, Da Bruno, Toni Dalli Restaurant, Tai Pan, The Suite and Sukhothai etc …

And if we continue moving towards the north, we will find an exclusive mountain area, which offers privileged urbanizations such as:

Sierra Blanca
Imara
Marbella Hill Club
The Hills of the Marbella Club
Mansion Club
Meisho Hills
The Altos de Puente Romano
Hills of Sierra Blanca
Monte Paraiso
Nagüeles
Camojan Waterfalls
Coto Real
La Trinidad

Being close to both the centre of Marbella and Puerto Banus makes the Golden Mile one of the most eventful and cosmopolitan areas on the coast as the surrounding areas offer great golf, country clubs, leisure and sports facilities, excellent beaches, shops, restaurants and a busy social scene and night life if that’s what you are looking for.

Within a comfortable 10-minute walk, you can be at the promenade which stretches for miles alongside the beach and where you can enjoy the cafes, “chiringuitos” and hotels, or go for a pleasant stroll or jog and even stop off at one of the “outdoor gym” spots to do a bit of toning up!

The Marbella Golden Mile is a great place to be, full of activity and things to do, see and watch, yet you can choose to be a short distance away and enjoy a quieter life style while popping in to see what is going on from time to time.

Therefore, if you are looking for a private villa with elevated views of the coast or a prestigious beach apartment, La Milla de Oro is your destination.
